  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hi my bunny flora has started weezing and squeaking shes eating fine and her sister is fine shes pooing and happy but not sure what to do??
we will take her to the vet at the weekend, but can anyone advise for the mean time..??

If its sudden it could well be a respiratory issue. Is there any discharge from eyes or nose? Any sneezing? I would try to get her to a vet tomorrow. If is respiratory it's best to treat as soon as poss.

She should go to the vet asap as if it is respiratory disease/infection your bun can deteriorate very quickly. Do her lungs sound crackly? If she lets you try to listen to her chest.

agree with everyone about seing a vet as soon as poss but just try to make sure shes got nothing up her nose too-if you can see that it lol. i found a huge piece was causing mine to sound like a guinea pig the other day. sorry if this sounds daft:oops:

just saw last post lol take her sister too as it reassures them:wave:

I agree that you should take her sister :) It might be nothing but better to be safe. My bun had a night of sneezing and I was so worried it was respiratory but turned out that it must have been hay/dust up his nose because he was perfectly ok the next day
