Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Big Day on Monday @ 10:20am for Ginger. Update: Myxi Vaccine done !

Ginger to be given a full health check after having bloods taken yesterday with a view to being myxi vaccinated.

I'm so broke due to other things as well, but imagine - Vaccinated! :D There is no cost not viable for that :D

Brilliant. Please be careful though, a very health Wish really, really struggled after her recent myxo vacc. Hopefully Ginger won't, but be aware she might.

Thats brilliant news

:)

Okay, thank you - i'll be keeping a REALLY close eye on her - fortunately, being 2 minutes from the vets, i can get her there immediately.

What were Wish' symptoms of struggling - just so i can have an idea of what to watch for in addition to what i would anyway? You know how similarly this gang works and i respect your opinions/ideas on them.

She didn't need to go back to the vets, but she was VERY lethargic from that evening until about 40 hours after the jab. I've never seen her lie down so much bless her. She was stille eating and pooing and stuff but very very tired.

Okay cool, thanks - lethargy i used to be used to with Ginger, but as we have her in such a great condition right now she's so bright and bubbly, im sure we'll notice any changes.

Thanks for the heads up, appreciated.

I've been keeping vibes for her going ever since you first mentioned this. All the prayers I can muster that she'll do brilliantly! ((((((Hugs))))))

Isn't there anything one could do for a bun to boost their immune system before jabs...like giving vitamin c to human kids when there's flu going round?

Not suggesting Ginger be given supplements or anything...just wondering why there's so little we can do to help them out in this way.

Fab news :)

I know how good it feels cos I only recently managed to get my Inca both of her vaccines. She was OK after hers, her urinary tract infection did flare up a bit afterwards and she needed some antibiotics.

Ginger has now had a myxi vaccination.

 :D

We're now on a very careful watch to see how she copes - waiting 6-8 weeks MINIMUM before considering VHD.

That's great. Hope she can have her VHD. The vet advised against it for Sue and has done for Dylan too. He is much older than Ginger though.

Well done, Ginger pops:love:
