Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

N&T not eating as much and being a bit moody - moulting related?

N&T are moulting/shedding a bit atm, and I've noticed they're not quite as excited with food. They eat herbs if I put them down but if I put any kale/cabbage/anything else apart from herbs or carrot down they won't immediately gobble it down like usual. They're eating about the normal amount of hay, maybe a little less, and some of the veg is getting eaten but probably about 75% of what they usually eat. It's also co-incided with that horrible cold spell a few days ago, is it possible they're just feeling a bit rubbish at the moment? They seem a lot happier in themselves the last 2 days when it's been a bit milder (10 rather than 0 degrees), and I've been brushing them lots. If it was just one I'd take her to the vets, but since it's both of them I wondered if it's something else? Nothing else has changed...

Moulting can make them feel completely rubbish so it is possible, however, I wouldn't rule out the possibility that it is a coincidental problem, or a problem like eating something that bothered them in some way (like bad hay, or something like that).

Thanks for the advice :) I haven't given them anything new food-wise, and it all seemed fresh (although you never know really, could have anything in that might have made them feel funny)! I just opened a new bag of hay and it smelt and looked the same as ever, but again you can never tell can you? I might open a new bag of hay and see what they think :) They don't seem too out of sorts, my mom who spends nearly as much time with them hasn't noticed it! But I am baffled and concerned none-the-less... Hmm. I'll definitely try switching the hay and I don't really know what else! I'll let them out tomorrow while I clean them out, maybe they'll feel better after a good run around? My poor babies I hope they aren't feeling rough!
