New Kit
Hi,
I have a 5 year old new Zealand rabbit. Over the past year we have been having problems with her while she eats. She will run to her food start eating and then stop. When she stops she starts to drool and her throat seems to flux like she is trying to regurgitate the food. Also, her eye bulge out while she is doing this. At the end of this episode it looks like she starts to chew and then licks her lips and then goes right back to the food and starts eating again, as if nothing happened. She never has multiple episodes during one feeding, nor does she have an episode every time she eats. We have tried all different foods, from organic leafs, to pellets mixed with water to make a porridge. She is bounded with another rabbit who has never had this problem. These episodes also seem to make her sick, since she had pneumonia twice within the same year. We have no idea what could be wrong with her and have seen countless vets who cannot seem to diagnosis it. If anyone has any information on this I would really appreciate it! We are seeing a new vet specialist on Thursday. Thanks!
