Rabbit insurance?

Hi all

I have 3 bunnies, and would ideally like to have them insured. My goregous Ralphy (RIP) cost me over £1000 in vets bills and he only lived until he was 5! I don't think if I did have insurance, back then, that I could have claimed as it was all dental/abcsess issues.

So my question now is, are there any insurance companies out there that offer good insurance that would cover dentals/facial abcesses?

Thanks! x

petplan and pets at home seem to offer the best for life coverage, but as far as I know neither will cover dental issues.

PetPlan only exclude routine dental treatment. I think abscesses should be covered, as long as they have regular dental checkups and obviously no preexisting dental issues when you start the insurance.

I took mine out with Pets@Home, this also includes dental cover. I can't recall how much they are covered for I would need to dig out the documents

I was talking to my vet about this only a few days ago as my bills for the bunnies have been horrendous this year.

You do have to be careful as some insurance companies won't pay out for issues that can be related to the teeth (eg facial abscesses etc). She had a client who had a bunny with dental issues that also developed abscesses and they wouldn't pay a penny because it was tooth related.

Just make sure you do your homework and read all the small print.

petplan will pay for facial abcesses if if happens later in life I.e if rabbit doesn't have routine dental treatment in the year before and has regular teeth check up I love petplan they've paid out £2,000 this year for Finley

im also with petplan for my bunnies  they have only not paid out for one of mabels treatments this year which was routine dental, all other issues
they paid up on within days
