Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Bunny eating wood!

Alleycat

Alpha Buck
I bought a toy for Sharik ages ago which essentially two wooden cubes (untreated wood) with a thick piece of rope between them - she essentially ignored it, but when I gave it to King (still a little boy), he started chomping away on the wood.

While it is good for his teeth, surely it can't be that great if he's actually eating the wood chips as well?

I removed the toy immediately when I saw what he was up to, but is it OK for him to eat the wood or not?

Thumper has a toy like your discribing, and he ignores it :(. as untreated and for pets, i wouldnt personally be to concerned if he eats it. x

Hi!

Im not sure that pine is that great for bunnies to eat...try and get some apple branches and hawthorn branches...or willow for him;)

He has those too - he just seemed to take an extreme interest in making these cubes go away

I tried him with it again earlier, and just goes bananas with it, so put it back in with Sharik who is less than impressed

how strange...must be the right consistency or he likes the taste...may be not give it to him if he is going overboard with it...;)
