I have estimated nearly 25 times.

For 5 different animals. 2 were routine vacs not actual treatment. 3 animals have been very ill. 1 passed away, 2 recovered, or I should say Cutie-pie is recovering.

Too many!

Mostly routine stuff for my guys, but lots of trips with the foster buns! The most shocking part is probably the bill for Salem's trips to the specialist... 3800! (That's not including the cost of petrol from York to Liverpool!)

Oh goodness. So much hard work, expense and heartbreak.

I have been 8 times in the 2 months I've had these rabbits.

At least once a week but sometimes 2-3 times in a week - don't want to think about it by doing the math

Gosh too many times to mention, dentals, GI stasis, bloat, blockage, ear infections, nasal infections, polpys, head tilt....all sorts!

About 20 I think. :) Mischa and Nutmeg have both had several checkups after their respective snuffle episodes.

Erm.....

Probably about 7 or 8 times with the bunnies, and that includes 3 lots of vaccinations. Plus one trip for Skye (the cat) to be vaccinated.

Snickers, our Syrian hammy, was very poorly earlier in the year and so there were 5 trips in total, including the last one where she was helped to the bridge. :( And a couple of times just for nail clipping with Cooper, the syrian.

Then, 4 trips with a chinese hammy with a broken leg.

I make that 20. Most were very inexpensive visits though, apart from the broken leg amputation but the pet shop paid. *phew*

:shock: That is one very hefty bill. I hope you have insurance. I thought we had it rough with vet bills. We are nearer 3,500.00 for all the animals. Only 500.00 of it on insurance though, which I have to still claim for.

He is insured, but I think we might be over the limit :( There are two conditions to claim for though, (the heart problem and the bowel problem) so it depends how the vet breaks down the cost. Waiting anxiously to find out how much I'll have to pay! Could be around 1300!

(Obviously, he's worth every penny and more! Just so happy it's not cancer! :D)

 We paid around 1,500 for Babydarling. It is so worth it. He such a happy boy and completely recovered now. When he does his little evening begging for food (they all do), it is a wondeful sight to see how much he wants and enjoys his food. He has an adorable way of putting his little hand out.

Wonderful result for Salem.

Im so glad all my pets stay healthy for me. Buzzby has had 2 trips this year, vaccination/checkup visits plus one panic call about being stung by a bee. The piggles have been great and I think I had a couple of visits early on in the year for elderly piggles who have since passed. Taff (horse) has only had his routine vet check/jab/dentist treatment and one check up for lameness resulting in treating for all year round parasite issues (some kind of mite or something, gets all the white areas on the horses and makes the skin incredibly sore) which was costly but at least thats under control now. Thankfully although my pony is a wimp he doesnt usually get ill needing a vet and is more likely to just need wound treatment/routine teeth stuff (he had his teeth ruined by a bad dentist when he was younger). Buzzby is possibly the healthiest bunny Ive ever had, rarely any stasis worries, teeth are perfect, no sore hocks or high maintenance problems. My piggles probably cost me the most in vets fees just because they seem to have the potential problems like skin trouble (bring in the whole herd so they can all be treated) or respiratory issues (one piggle seemed to have issues at least once a year, he was a runt and probably would have died without human intervention so maybe thats how it should have been, although he was always happy). The only insured pet is the horse, and thats for accident causing visible damage or death only as he's 17 aand noone wants to cover him for under 80 a month  I put away as much as I can each month to cover any incidents and Im lucky to be in a position where my family would support if there was a major incident and I couldnt afford the vets fees.

This has been a good year for my buns. I probably went a lot at the beginning but after my rabbit savvy vets left they put Grim's medicines on repeat so unless you count me going in every couple of weeks to pick them up... :)
Smoo has been in twice with her teeth/stomach and an abscess and Grim has been doing so well on his new combination of medicine and nebulisation he's just ticking over nicely.
Everyone else (touch wood) has been nice and healthy. I almost went in with SPG but some mite treatment and a change of bedding sorted him out.

My buns have been for routine vaccinations and Floppy once for not eating his tea! Starfish - I dread to think but my vets were great and don't charge consultation fees.

Then there are the fosters and I am there on average once a week. Most of the time I don't need to give my name on the phone because they recognise my voice. That's not a good thing at the vet!

I've had Pudding PTS
1 trip with Gerbil
2 vaccination trips for rabbits
I have had 4 or 5 sets of cats this year, all needing atleast 2 trips for vaccines. 2 spay/neuter trips, 10 trips with Electra for her back, 1 with Gem for her stomach.
and so many more I cant even think of

Only once with my rabbit. I'm lucky because I have my own live in vet so she brings me vaccinations and stuff and checks his teefies for me.

Just twice with Boris who has an ongoing respiratory infection (probably pasteurella). Bella has been doing really well this year and not had any health problems except a gassy tummy which only needed some gentle tummy rubs. Hoping and praying that they both stay healthy, they hate going to the vets :(

Six for bunnies- one spay, one spay post-op, two vaccs, one check-up and one death. Plus once for the hamster, ending up paying 30 for one drop of metacam  So 7 times altogether!

Just had a run through all the times I can remember and I think it has been about 15. Have had a good year for Pipkin's teeth so he hasn't been as much as usual :D Jo (cat) has had more trouble with her teeth than usual though so they have swapped

hundreds . . I mean rarely a week goes by when we don't - and if it does we always end up going twice the next week . .

thats how it is when you have so many (32 now . . say 'Hello' to Aubretia - our latest recruit!!).

And when we do go there's usually several with us -

the other day I went just to pick up some meds from the reception - when I got there there was no-one in the waiting room - so I said to the receptionists 'had I known you had a spare appt I would have brought some rabbits with me'!!:lol::lol:(I meant it - there is always something!)

Apr - Mitzi repeat prescription
May - Rosie to cardio again
Jun - Georgi pts
Jul - Frank(the stray) caught & neutered
Auf - Bicci bunny went onto metacam to get her back legs working again
Sept - Mitzi repeat prescription
Rosie cardio check up and prescription
2 trips for Bicci sadly the 2nd to pts
Oct - Tommy rabbit 3 times in one week sadly pts
twinkle bunny spayed and 2 check ups
My gorgeous Mitzi mog aged 19 and 3 trips and finally pts
Nov - Ozzie and twinkle start their bunny boosters

I think....
6 trips for vaccines
2 trips for spays/neuter
1 trip for snuffles

1 trip for bad eye mouse
1 trip for nothing being wrong with my mouse
2 trips for mousey PTS.

so 13 trips in total?

ETA: this year
2/3 trips for vaccines
1 trip for my mouse
1 trip for mouse to be PTS

so 4/5 trips this year.

Hmmm...
Once for suspected ear mites, once for snuffles, 2 for dental consultations and 2 for dentals so 6 times for one bun in total... and another dental due ASAP! (all funded by me- a student with no job!)

Erm...once with Islay and Jura getting myxi vacs in April. Once with Arran getting his mxyi in July. Three times with Maddy's bladder troubles and Lucky cat was seen to for a lump at the same time.

So 5 times this year. :) Not bad considering there's 12 animals here.
