Murphy -U/D 12th Dec- Better Day Today

Jack's-Jane

Wise Old Thumper
He is OK within himself, but he is still displaying symptoms that fit with a serious problem within his chest cavity

I also *think* I can detect a heart murmur

He has lost almost 100g in weight since Monday, despite eating like a Horse

Will report back later xx

I'll be thinking of you and Murphy today. I hope all will be well. (((((((((((((((((vibes))))))))))))))))))

We are back.

Both Vets think that Murphy has something nasty going on, probably a Thymoma  He would definitely need a GA/Xray to get good radiological views of his chest to confirm this. Obviously he is a very 'high risk' for a GA. Given that if it is a Thymoma I would not be putting him through surgery (which would need a Specialist Referral ) and that at the moment Murphy is 'well within himself' we are going the palliative care root. Corticosteroids are an option should his symptoms worsen, but these would be the last resort because of their side effects.

In short, Murphy is on borrowed time but he is not suffering. He is bright, eating well and interacting with his friend Harry. From now on it will be one day at a time and I hope that Murphy can remain 'feeling well' for as long as possible :)

Vibes for murphy. He is such a lucky bunny in that, although he is faced with this, he is in the very best place to ensure his final days/weeks/months are contented and comfortable

I hope that Murphy can remain comfortable for a long time to come. Poor boy.:(. I am so glad he is happy in himself though.
