wood for hutch roof?

crazy daisy

Warren Scout
Im currently in the slow process of building my bunnies a new hutch. Ive got all the materials for the framework and sides etc but forgot to get the wood for the roof!.. What type of wood do i need? Will plywood be sufficient? Im going to felt it anyway and its not going to be open to all weathers as its for inside any avairy type enclosure. Thanks :)

I think plywood may be a little bit on the thin side. If we get a strong wind like of late, it may just get ripped off. Perhaps chipboard would be better?

Ply will be fine. There are different thicknesses.
6mm will be sufficient.
My dad made my guinea pigs hutch from ply.

If you want it to last then i would go with Plywood WBP at least 9mm, 12mm and up is what we would use to outdoor buildings.
