Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

hi is it normal for rabbits to loose there fur i have 2 lops both of them have lost there fur under there belly & it is falling out on there back could anyone tell me why this is happening.

they live indoors the only time they go outside is in the warmer weather can hay which i use for there bedding make this happen i clean them out every 2days they have a big run so i'm confused why there fur is falling out its more on there tummy i have brought anti-parasite spot on in case its parasites they have

Are they bald underneith or is there just a lot of fur coming off? Sometimes when rabbits moult ridiculous ammounts of fur come out but they shouldn't be bald underneith, it could be a skin/parasite problem or they could be plucking each other. Is the female spayed? Are you finding the fur in a nest like pile?

yes ones male the other female they have been spayed & neutered there 3years old this hasn't happed before thats why i was worried

the female is more bold under belly than the male but have have been useing a new hay from the pet shop thats why i thought it was that, but the female is always lying in her bedding more than the male she is really lazy

My rabbit Harley barely moulted for years then suddenly had a massive one and ended up with a rex coat, but I'd have a very close look at their fur and make an appointment with the vet
