  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Rolo-bun not well

Hi all, my house-bun, Rolo doesnt seem very happy today:(

Hes eating the same and pooing the same. His tummy is nice and soft and his teeth are fine. His ears are not too hot and he doesnt feel cold.

But, when he hops, he seems to be hopping carefully. And more carefully on his right back foot. Ive check him over VERY carefully and there is no swelling and he doesnt struggle when I touch it.

Can buns pull muscles like hoomans?? Im keeping close eye on him today and if hes the same in the morro, then its the vets for him! I hate taking him to the vets, he stresses himself out so much that sometimes he stops breathing!!

My poor bunsky.

Yes, Rabbits can pull/strain muscles.

Could he have jumped down from somewhere and hurt himself ?

I hope it is nothing too serious.

Thanks. I think he may have got stuck under the bed. He likes to sleep under there and I wonder if he got stuck or trapped his leg.

Hes hopping about abit more. And LOVING the attention!!
