Red Marks on back of neck - what could be the cause?

Thump3r

Young Bun
Hi

around 3 weeks ago I noticed there was a small area on the back of thumpers neck which had a scab, so kept an eye on and thought nothing of it, it went and new fur has grown through. Since then on either side two new red marks have appeared. (photo below) what could cause this.

they are shallow breaks in the skin (like scratching I guess) with the redness and are partly scabbed. Today for instance they are more red following being in her cage all day, so it cant be the cat, which I did wonder. She always seems happy when we're around, eating food no problem, grinding teeth when stroked. Her cage when we come home is a bit messy, straw about etc.. she lives in a chicken coop so has fair bit of space.

We have even managed to get so relaxed now she can be craddled like a baby and fall asleep as well as lie her on her back and stroke her stomach.

Any ideas anyone had anything similar? The mark is almost exactly in the dip between the head and back and in this case on top of the two shoulder blades.

thanks

Looks like dermatitis. Has she had a vaccination recently ?

She could do with a Vet check as the sore skin probably needs treatment.

She has had her jabs in august. Will this make any difference?

No, it is just that sometimes vaccinations/injections can cause a local skin reaction. But if she has not had any vaccinations/injections since August it is unlikely to be that. So a Vet check would be my advice :)
