Websites that say about rabbits needing company?

I need something to convince gran that Beilidh needs company. Loads of websites say 'rabbits are very sociable'...but i need more than that. Like something that says its cruel to keep them alone...he's indoors (but not somewhere he sees loads of people). It was easier with the others cos they actually looked lonely, but Beilidh
doesn't. So I need something 'pushy'/

I'm not gonna beg her cos I'm lucky she's letting me keep Beils, she doesnt believe (for want of a better word:?) when i say he's lonely. probably because he's such a happy bunny when everyones around him. but when he's alone he lies at the door waiting for someone.:(

He'll of course need neutered first, that will take some time because i'm still getting over loosing Jazzy under anaesthetic for her spay. I'm so scared i might lose him.:( He was suppose to be neutered today but I only lost Jazzy last week, I was up all last night sick with anxiety so I had so cancel.:oops::cry: I know im being selfish but im petrified.:(

Also anyone know of any rescues in glasgow that have spayed females atm? The only one I know of doesnt have any just now :(.

Thanks in advance!!

Sorry I don't know but wanted to send some *hugs* your way xxxxxx It is understandable about being scared, not selfish at all. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Keep your rabbit with at least one other friendly rabbit, unless advised otherwise by a vet or qualified animal behaviourist. A good combination is a neutered male and a neutered female, or neutered littermates of the same sex."

Thanks!! :thumb:

Thankyou :)

He will definitely be neutered before Christmas. Definitely. Feel so stupid for chickening out today.

Is it really bad that I just want to reserve her now?

If any of these buns are spayed and still available when I'm seriously looking for another bunny I'll definately consider rehoming one of these 3!

Wow - little Summer, the middle one, is such a stunning colour

The rwa 'a hutch is not enough' page says:
They're not designed to live alone either - wild rabbits live in large social groups, foraging, grooming each other and huddling together for warmth. Rabbits living alone experience high levels of stress.

Hopefully it won't be long till those girls have their ops. When you are seriously looking, get in touch with David and see what he can do. He will be more than happy to work with you to find a solution that suits both parties.

They are lovely rabbits, wish I'd known about this charity when I was looking for a spayed wife for Russell. The Dumbarton SSPCA rescue shelter recently had a spayed rex cross female called Lucia, she might still be there. Hope all goes well with the neutering sad to hear about your Jazzy x
