Can anyone recommend a magazine mainly on Continental rabbits?

Hey guys, I purchased a giant continental rabbit last year and he is called George!

I've researched a bit about the breed, but I want to know more about the size he should be at now that he is a year and a half.

I always browse the pet magazines at WHSMITHS but haven't found a magazine or website that tells me the right information.

Can any one recommend any magazines that specialise in rabbit breeds??

I've found one website: www.smallfurrypets.co.uk which looks like it's a small animal magazine about to launch. Does anyone know anything about it??

Thanks

Laura

There are none, infact I only know of three rabbit magazines, one made by the RWA, one I think someone on here does, and then fur and feather which is mainly for exhibitors, you might get an odd giant article but there are no breed specific magazines. Breed clubs might do newsletters though or year books? And these three general rabbit mags have to be ordered, you wont find them in book shops unfortunately

For rabbit care the RWA 'Rabbiting On' mag is probably the best. Fur & Feather has some but is aimed at breeders/exhibitors. There is also Bunny Mad which is a mix of care and more light hearted stuff.

The British Rabbit Council may have a book/booklet on the breed but again this will be aimed more at breeders than pet care.

The size of rabbits varies a lot, particularly in giants, what is over weight for one individual can be under for another. He should be full grown now so if you are unsure, check with a vet that his body condition is good and then note down his weight and you can refer to that if you are ever worried :)

Thanks guys.

Well I purchased George as a continental giant, but from the research I've done online he is only half the size he should be. I'm thinking he may be crossed maybe with a French or an English.

My friend works for Pets At Home, she's the one who told me about that new rabbit magazine they will be stocking, but she doesn't know any more info on it apart from the name. Thought some one on here might know more? I'm hoping its going to be detailed on rabbit breeds and not be aimed for kids!

Where can I get a copy of the RWA magazine?
