Hi
I spoke to my vet this morning. He said to not get too excited as nothing really very new had come out of it! He has been on the conference this week.
He reiterated that the 9 day course is probably a bit of a waste of time, but said that research has been done where they 'gave' rabbits E-cuni deliberately and then did a 9 day course and this got rid of all signs of the E-cuni, which was fine if you knew exactly when it had been contracted. However, he would still recommend the one-off 30 days course and to do it if any symptoms occur - unless you knew exactly when it had started (which would obviously not be the case mostly).
However, I thought it quite interesting that the 9 day course 'got rid' of all signs of E Cuni - and didn't think (from reading on here) that this was the case. He said that this had been extensively researched though (according to the rabbit experts at the conference - completely independent vets incidentally), but still wouldn't recommend a 9-day course!:?
