  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Ginger off to the vets :( ud,still improving, another pic :)

Wise Old Thumper
Lethargic, didn't fancy brekky this morning, whilst eating a soggy pellet, sounded like she was really struggling, sounded almost like a human when choking and had to keep stopping chewing and then starting again.

Very quiet, won't run around, flopped next to me by my desk.

Biscuit being VERY fussy of her, won't leave her alone and she's already growled at him twice.

Think she's feeling poorly :(

Ginger's been admitted :(

Her tummy is full, but her chest sounds awful apparently.

I don't understand, she was absolutely fine last night

Is Biccy with her?

Poor Ginger - it's scary how one minute buns can be OK and the next poorly.

Sending lots and lots of vibes for Ginger's recovery xxxx

I'm sorry it wasn't 'just' teeth. I really hope they can help her. I've put myself to online in case you want/need a chat :)

Thank you  :)oops:)

They called a couple of minutes ago, she's under atm, and her teeth are being done as they are a mess anyway, but they say she has a bit of a 'lump' under the skin at the base of her spine, just before the tail. My rabbit anatomy isn't great, so i'm off to do some research.

She's going to be given additional pain relief (i forget the name, i was doing a support call for work when they called :/) and the usual's and fluids, on my request, and stay there for now. Going to go see them at lunch if i can, even though she'll be asleep.
