How Far Do You Travel to Your Rabbit Savvy Vet?

Janey

Warren Veteran
As title, as in round trip? I dont mean specialist because i know people travel for hours but where you'd go for vaccs, general issues etc?

Ive just arrived at my vets & think the journey is prob about 40 miles round-trip, I know it's prob not that far compared to others but it feels it in rush hour on a Friday evening.

It depends which surgery I go to, but the main one, the hospital is roughly 20 mins away on a good run, at the moment, with our roadworks, it often closer to 30mins. Not sure how many miles though.

Round trip - there & back takes between 1 hour to 1 & 1/2 hours......thats why Im gonna change...but I really like them:cry: and to change means to "risk" a place I odnt know is any good.:? BUT is reachable in an emergency:?

40 mile round trip which takes 40 minutes each way. Not managed to find a decent vet that is sensibly priced closer so I just have to travel.

Mine is about 7 miles away, but thats only for routine stuff. Ops and xrays etc are at the other branch that is 12 miles away.

I don't mind how far it is, except when they're really poorly. Then I wish it was just up the road.

About 40 miles round trip. Our old vets were closer but it was all side roads, the rabbits actually prefer the longer, motorway journey.

It's a 25 mile round trip which doesn't seem that far when it's a routine matter but seems to take ages when it's an emergency or something I'm really worried about :(

We do have a vet just 3 minutes walk away but they haven't a clue when it comes to rabbits so I wouldn't waste my breath!

My vet is excellent, all in all, it's just over a mile there and back to the surgery, that's for the satellite practice in my town. If I have to go to the main surgery for an emergency, it's a 8 mile return. They've looked after all my buns, piggies, dogs, cats and hamsters. ;)

Some people are very lucky....i wish i had a good rabbit vet closer, mainly for in the case of an emergency (dread thinking about). My local vet took a week to properly look at Poppy's teeth properly when she wouldnt eat- hence the travelling.
