Another bun rescued and 2 becomes 3!

New Kit
Well yet another bunny was dumped at work a few weeks back... We have nearly one a month, if not more especially as we seem to get Pets at Homes unwanted and ill being their in house vets.
Well this chap was "found in a garden" but no doubt he was their rabbit.
He was put with mine, hastily, as we just had no room what so ever in the vets that day and all the other members of staff literally were bogged down with other animals at home at that very time...
Usually we all find somewhere for them to go in time but that was against us!

So there he was, in my run with my 2 other rescue buns! He was ok, no fighting, even though he is entire and my boy and girl are not.
Well the next morning I had a good look at him in day light and I was shocked! His prepuce was huge, red, bloody, scabby and smelly!
Straight to work he went!!!

Fortunately it was only a wound, possibly a fighting wound, but an old one so my buns weren't to blame!
I guess thats why he was "found", maybe he had been fighting with their other bunny?

Either way we had room that next day at work and he was hospitalized for a week or so on pain relief and anti Bs till he healed over and the scabs were gone...
He come home to a frosty welcome from the big female New Zealand, Alice. Pepe my little English was quite pleased to see him really, but Alice seemed to take her annoyance out on poor Pepe for being the "weaker" male, bless him.
Poor Captain Jack was petrified of it all though!

Eventually they all settled down, the two boys run around in their little gang and Big Alice as usual rules the roost!

After all she is known as the 'FOX KILLER' around these parts after attacking a fox and being covered in the FOXES blood like the rabbit from Monty Python!!!! :thumb:

Anyway here are some pics of them playing in the garden, excuse the naughty plants they have never been in that part before as I was re arranging their run... either way they survived lol.

Am I right in thinking the new little Captain Jack is a Dutch or Dutch cross? I have no idea what to register him as on his Microchip form haha.

What lovely buns and a lovely happy ending for that cute bun. Well done you, for keeping him.

haha, as I scrolled down the pics, I thought the cat was sat on a rabbit.

They look really happy together, amazing how some buns just accept others like that.

Talk about landing on your feet... Or paws... :D

I know, cute isnt it?
All 3 were rescued this year, Alice was around April time, Pepe shortly after and now Captain Jack!
I was never a bunny lover but now I am addicted and adore them.
Alice is a feisty thing bless her (Attacking that fox proved that) so she taught me that rabbits dont need handling and cuddling like a puppy.
Because of this they understand I let them do what that they can do what they wish as long as I can get them locked in at night time (with the temptation of their night feed) and back out in the morning before I head off for work.
3 very spoilt bunnies huh!

I adore them though! Who would of thought that a reptile fanatic would fall in love with bunnies!

I have even Microchipped them all and got the RSPCA shelter I work at as well to microchip all the rabbits, g pigs and ferrets they rehome :thumb:
Makes sense as it seems we only get in strays, to the microchip scheme is bound to help..... and rabbits are the easiest to chip :p
