This video http://www.howcast.com/videos/190878-How-To-Give-Medication-To-a-Rabbit made a big difference to my rabbit-medicating. It's a lot easier with the bunny beside me under my arm and holding her head with my fingers. But the huge docile critter in the video (who makes me think of a rabbit-buddha) doesn't bury her face frantically in the towel, or move her head violently to get rid of the syringe, thereby hitting it against her nose and face. I'm getting better at getting them to accept the syringes, but it's still quite stressful and time consuming for rabbits and I.
Any advice?
P.S. With one in particular, it seems to be an aversion to all syringes; the content makes little difference and once I've actually managed to get the syringe into her mouth, she will take a bit of what-ever-it-is. Then I need to repeat until finished, giving her time to hide and re-emerge, then usually wrestle with and chew the syringe.
I've generally just held one side of the head, as I'm concerned I'd be bitten if I used the technique in the video.
