The best heater for in a shed

Minimallow

Wise Old Thumper
Starting to think about winterproofing soon and was wondering what the best type of heater would be. I don't normally put specific heating in, but with Mallow not being too good, if she is still here in winter I'm assuming she'll need the extra heat. I don't want to heat it to really warm, but just to take the edge off and keep the temperature quite mild. I don't have electric out to the shed but can ask hubby to do something about that. If anyone has any advice that would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ive just put a tubular greenhouse heater in my new kennel  you can get different lengths and they are low wattage so don't use much electricity :) you can get made to measure guards for them aswell

Tubular greenhouse heaters :D. I've got the energy saving ones - a 2ft one in the kennel and a 3ft one in the shed. The 2ft one is 80 watts and the 3ft one is 135 watts. They're brilliant - keep an insulated shed at about 2-3 degrees when it's minus 10 outside . I bought mine (including guards) from here http://http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/Heating_Index/Tubular_Heaters/index.html - they were very good.

ETA - I have photos of them at home but for information, I placed them very low down on the shed walls - just above the height of the water bowl which is then placed next to the heater. Stops the bowl from freezing in very cold weather.

I'd go with tubular I got mine in Argos it has a safety cut out but I still plug it into a breaker aswell. Probably the safest form of heating, it comes with clips to fix to the shed wall and you just need cable clips for the wire then.
