Rabbit poo

I brought my 9 week old mini lop home on friday afternoon, and she seems to have settled in great, eating loads of hay and I've started switching her onto SS Jr pellets (from allen & Page breeders pellets) which she seems to love.
My question is about caecotrophs. During the day I haven't seen any, but in the morning her cage seems to be full of them. I know seeing an excess points to a too-rich diet, but I don't want to restrict her pellets too much as she was the runt of the litter and pretty small. I don't know if I don't see them during the day because she's eating them, I haven't seen her doing it. I just wonder why there are so many in the morning. She does loads of the actual golden-brown poos during the day, but there seem to be a lot fewer of those during the night.
Any info would be really great.
Thanks

I was having this problem with Indy when she came (see here)

Since weaning her onto the Oxbow pellets, giving her biolapis in her water for a week and stopping her vegs she's much better.

I did see that she was eating some during this 'funny' period however there were excess. Now there are none. The vet suggested that she didn't like the cabbagy ones after she had spring greens, I don't think I would either

Hope this helps.

Hi

Excell pellets often seem to do this to little ones

Try restricting pellets and also gradually changing to science selective or Oxbow and making sure she eats more hay.\

Also avoid smelly greens or anything sugary (cabbage etc is really rather too rich for little ones)

good luck and well spotted!
