Bonding after major op?

Alpha Buck
Hello.

Please help!

Emily was spayed as well as undergoing a huge op to remove a massive lump that had attached itself in several places - all on 7th July this year.

We had planned to get her a husbun but due to the size of the bill we decided to wait. Emily has other ideas. She is a house rabbit but does all she can to see the outdoor rabbits! I think she wants company but it is not possible to bond her with my trio - they were quite tricky to bond and Jessica is still tempermental!

I have been looking at different rescues and have enquired about a young French Lop (the same breed as Emily). My worry is that Emily has had not had long enough to recover from her op. She has had the all-clear from the vet and is very bright, if not brighter than she was before the op!

Would you think she has had enough rest to be bonded with another rabbit?

Thanks

Tanya

When Alyssa was speyed, we waited a month to bond her & whilst the bond worked the majority of the time she was very very bossy.

I don't know if thats her nature as sadly, 5 months in her husbun sadly died, and since his death 2.5 years ago, we haven't attempted a rebond (Alyssa is 7 & im not happy to put her through stress)

Is she a house rabbit?

I think if you can wait a little while longer it may be beneficial :)

Yes she is a house rabbit but does all she can to see the other rabbits! The spay was a small part of her op thats why I wanted to check that she had rested enough. She is very bright and back to her normal self - and is really wanting company. She just loves cuddles, kisses and nose rubs. She is 8 months old on 25th August so is still a baby really. ;)
