Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

I am not sure if you can see it but there is a white mark on the corner of snowball's eye. Can anyone help me only noticed it today. Do you think I should take her to the vets?

Thanks

Jacks-Jane will probably come along in a minute with a link to uveitis i think it is. Definately worth a trip to the vet i'd say.

Well done for spotting it.

Is the eye bloodshot at all or is there any discharge ?

From the photo it looks as though there is a little clear discharge. If so and the membrane looks more exposed than normal then I would get the Vet to check. It is not possible to give you a definitive answer just from a photo :)

Hi Jack's-Jane, No both eyes are not bloodshot and there is no discharge.

I think it might have been I woke her up and then her eyes were like that.

I have checked on her about an hour ago and her eyes look normal again.

I have definately learnt something new today I didnt even know buns had a 3rd eyelid. I love this forum.

I will still keep a close eye on her just incase.

Thanks a lot xxxx

Just got back from the vets. She has got a slight eye infection. I have been given eye drops twice a day and Panacur for 28 days.

So glad I did take her.

xx

Well done, I wish everyone was as vigilant about their Rabbit as you. Hopefully the eye treatment will sort things out quickly xx

Thanks Jack's-Jane,

I love my buns and would do anything for them.

So people will say "Oh its only a rabbit" but mine are my friends and if you feel low they are always there to make you smile.
