  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vibes for my Evy please

Nimmy22

New Kit
My little Evy girl has suspected pasturella :(. She isn't eating and has seriously blocked up nostrils and weeping eyes, so syringing her critical care and wiping her nose every couple of hours to keep her nostrils clear from nasal discharge. Some vibes for my gorgeous girl would be lovely.

Thank you for the vibes :)

She has had two Baytril injections along with Baytril oral am and pm and she has also had another antibiotic yesterday but unsure of the name. Wish I could do more but just don't know what else to do :(

No the vet hasn't suggested a nebuliser and the only meds he has given her are the ones I mentioned in the last post  I think I am going to have to change vets as I have had worrying advice from this particular vet before when one of my other buns had the sniffles and wasnt eating or pooing for at least 24 hrs and he said 'don't worry its probably just because she isn't feeling well bring her in in a couple of days' luckily I knew about gut stasis and syringed that bun too.
