Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Vomiting bunny?

Joeys_Mum

New Kit
I dont no if this has been posted before but last night Joey was roaming round my living room and taking up all the sofa as usaul but i noticed some white milky fluid on one of the sofa cushions as ive tidied up the mess i noticed what looked like a giant poo in the middle of it!! I took him to the vets for a general check up a few days ago and there was no cause for concern and they said he was perfectly healthy. ive never noticed this before and was wondering what i may be. I thought it may of been a fur ball?

xx

Rabbits can't vomit, they physically can't, they dont have the physiology.

Hopefully someone else will come across this thread and offer help.

I agree that it sounds like wee.

If a rabbit is bringing something out of it's mouth then there is something exceptionally wrong. Given they don't have a gag reflex so can't vomit, you would be looking at a variety of severe problems. Given your bunny seems ok and is acting ok, it's hopefully none of those, and is just some urine.

this is going to sound SO RUDE! but um, is he neutered? he could have maybe... got a bit excited perhaps?:oops:

Thats the only new suggestion i can bring to the table, i agree with the white wee and everything else thats been said..

yes he is neutered, Im going with the widdle i think!! just gonna keep an eye on him. cheers for all your help guys =] xx

Just something to bear in mind, keep an eye on his wee and litter trays, as milky wee can be caused by too much calcium in the diet, which can lead to problems. Its nothing to panic about, all buns get it sometimes, just keep an eye on it so you know its not something that happens regularly.
