Manchester vets and boarding?

Hello!

I've noticed a few on here from Manchester, and was wondering if you could recommend a good, bunny savvy vet?

I'm currently with the PDSA, but it's more catered towards cats and dogs, so I want to register with a more specialised one incase of any real emergency. I love in Moss Side (nice, I know!), and don't drive so would preferably want one in South/central Manchester. However, any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! :D

Also, I'm going to Turkey for 2 weeks in October (wahey!), but need a bunny boarding place, so does anyone have any Manchester based ones that they could advise me to go to?

So far I've found these two, which look quite nice...

1.Sunflower Hotel

2. Whittle Valley Pet hotel

I'd need them to take them indoors, as mine are indoor bunnies, and won't have an adequate winter coat for staying outside in October.

Thanks in advance! :D xXx

Ahh, thank you!

I've been considering them actually, as they're relatively close- may get in touch (and hope they're not too expensive :lol:)

Thanks again! :D xx

we use ashleigh vets. :)

whittle valley pet boarding is two street away from me. it's in a nice spot but it concerns me some things on their site stating the wrong hutch size recommendations etc. but the actual outside of the building looks nice and it's got fields behind etc.

Thanks for the info! I know, that was one thing I was concerned about, but it seems as though they get a lot of time out of the hutches (good luck to them trying to handle Gaga though!). I'll probably have a little visit at some point, to see if it's nice inside- looks it from the pictures :)

Ditto Ashleigh's.

We started off there to continue through from adopting from Peggy Hendersons but its too far to drive across town as we live Bury way, he we swapped to Vets 4 Pets but we think are equally as good as they have specialist bunny vet also, you are the right side of Manchester for Ashleighs though.

They are bunny savvy & exotic animal specialists

As for boarding, why not go have a look at a few, any boarders
will welcome visitors to check out their set up, after all you need to be happy and not too worried about them whilst they are on their holidays and you to:wave:

Thanks for your replies! Very helpful! :D

I'll get them registered at Ashleigh's, as I'd feel more comfortable having a good specialist vet- only 10 minutes drive, too- bonus! :)

I'll get looking round at some boarding places, too :D

personally I wouldn't board with Sunflower's either as they breed. Its a personal choice over them being bad. Im sure there was a member on here opening up, plus there is Kay on here bunnyhop rescue, who I think does boarding.

Ashleighs for me too - Sarah there is wonderful and has buns of her own, just off the 86 bus route too.

Sunflower aren't bad for a breeder - welfare of their bunsks is paramount to them, so while we may have issues with breeding on here, they at least look after their animals and I wouldn't have an issue with using them. I'm not sure aboit indoors/outdoors though. The main issue would be getting over to Denton without a car.

so jealous of your ten minute drive to ashleigh vets! we do 40mins each way. worth it though :)

Wow, seeing as people drive so far to go to Ashleigh's it'd be a shame not to take advantage of my short journey there. Thank you so much, everyone! :D

I'll have a little look around some boarding places, I suppose that's the best way to get a feel for them (plus I'd know where they are, which is always helpful )

Thanks again for your replies- very helpful! :thumb::thumb::thumb:
