Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Young Bun
Hi,

I've been a member here for a while, but never posted before.

I've got 2 bunnies - Cassie Rabbit and Gizmo. I've them for a year and a few months.

For the past few days Cassie Rabbit has had a bit of weepy eye. She had it a little bit last year but seemed to clear itself up after a few days.
She's had it for a week or so now, on and off. I've just put it down to some sort of animal hay fever.
It doesn't bother her. She's not scratching it, rubbing it or cleaning it all the time.
When I get them in, in the evenings, I've been bathing it with warm salty water.

Has anyone else come across this with their rabbits? What did you do?

Thank you

Jo

I would suggest a vets visit to be honest. Could be a wee bit of dirt in the eye, or a wee infection. Some eye drops might be better for clearing it up :)
