  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

the vet rang this morning to check and we told them neither have pooped since being at home(since 4pm yesturday) they did no poos at the vets either! mum went to get fibreplex, but both refused it so we had to force it so can;t be sure how much they got

then the vets rang back just a min ago and asked for an update, as she said they may have to come back in!

Matilda is eating Basil leaves, Albert has only ate 1 small slice of banana, but neither have had anything else!!

only 2 wees from both of them and no poos!

I know its important not to go too OTT incase they reopen the wound but can you encourage them to move around just a little bit, this can help get things moving.

oo may do that with Albert, Tilda does move about, mainly to and from the hot water bottles as and when she gets to warm or cold etc!

Try not to worry too much. Your vet will prob just give them a gut stimulant which should help.
