  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Nebulising F10.

We did it with Badger- F10SC

What do you need to know?

How does it work? Do i need to buy a nebuliser? Does anywhere allow you to rent them do you know, or would it be best to buy my own?

Rough costs of any recommended ones?

Is F10 expensive?

Am i wasting my time and this isn't worth trying? (but i know lots of people use them, so i guess they are good?)

I guess im after anything and everything, i dont know jack about jack

You lose absolutely nothing by trying. My vet told me that pharmacies sometimes hire them out, but I couldn't fond one that did, so I bought the one Maplin's sells and it's been awesome- my vets like it so much they borrow it from me if they need one (they don't have their own yet).

F10SC is pretty good stuff, well known for being used in a nebuliser. It didn't help Badger, but that was before we knew what his real problems were, but it had no adverse effects either- nor on me when I accidently inhaled it.

Plus, F10SC is a fantastic disinfectant for cages and stuff as well so you can use it for that if you ever need to. The bottle of stuff is cheap too and you dilute it right down.

Yes you'll need a neb and a plastic storage box to make a chamber.

Alot of RU, myself included, have the neb I've linked. Its very easy to use.

I'd say its worth trying, even a plain saline neb made a difference to Bluebell. I don't think he'd be here without it - best investment I ever made.

Thanks Amy - i assume its the C28 you were looking at for £44?

Sky - glad it no adverse affects on humans too - thats actually good to know, althogh not the best way for you to find out...

I found the stuff online via Amy's link and its very cheap, which is nice for a change for something that we may need being cheap

I found the F10 really good and as youve found out... not that expensive.
If I remember rightly it was about 8ml to a litre of water.. Good thing is you can mix it, use what you need and the rest saves.. so no waste.

I've just started nebulising Grim.
I desensitised him to the box and he loves his box now.
I ended up getting the nebuliser from Amazon because I could get free next day delivery with a free trial of prime. :)

I seems to be helping him even after only a few sessions. I'm just using sterile saline solution at the moment.
