following on from this thread (which is getting very long!)

matts gentamicin came today so he has started course 9 tonight. (1ml gentamicin, 1ml parvolex, 8ml hypertonic saline, twice a day for 20-25mins)

he's done well this time because it has been five weeks since the last course, and at the start he was doing between two and four weeks before needing it, then four weeks and now he has done five this time and he did seven before that but that was due to not being able to get any and seven weeks was not good for him..

but anyways, he's started on that. he is very squeaky again and bunged up. he's been a bit quiet today and all through last night i could hear him breathing in a very bunged up way. he's also sneezing alot again and with this humid and warm weather, he must be feeling unwell. :(

good news is that bisc is doing amazingly well. he just has parvolex and hypertonic saline (the same as matt when he doesn't have the gentamicin added aswell) and he even has a week off being nebulised now when matt needs gentamicin and he's completely fine with that. if anything, we think his breathing is better now and he is well and truly stable. he still snores but it's more a gentle snore now whereas before it was very loud, wheezy and bunged up. me and o/h were talking before and we feel bisc is at his peak again now after everything he went through, and is even healthier now than before he got ill. he just looks fantastic. i think his breathing is very stable now with the nebulising parvolex, hypertonic saline, and with his metacam. we have even managed to lower his metacam dose and he has had no problems with that. so that's fantastic.

so it's a weeks break from nebulising for bisc now and a week of stronger meds for matt and we will get him back on track again.

That's really good news. :)

bisc is hyper! but it's great because he's so happy.

matts struggling a bit in this humid weather. nebulising is obviously what he needs yet he's getting so hot in there aswell so we have to do random times when it cools down and have all the windows and doors open. he's doing ok though.

i meant to update this. gentamicin course 9 finished. now we have a non sneezing mr matt who is much happier and able to binky much more!
