Medi Vets

Warren Veteran
Hello I wanted advice on Medi vets ..
I might register with them ..

Does anyone use them?
Are they rabbit savvy?
Are the prices good?

My current vet does know stuff about rabbits but charges loads..
I got charged £60 for Baytril, checking teeth with instruments, checkup..
But the vaccinations with them are cheap (£18 )

I am registered with another vet but they are 15 mins away from me .. They have good prices :)
Lucky and Jack got checked up and they got meds for £50 .. That's two rabbits and baytril .. With my current vets I got charged £60 for one bun and baytril

Hi i use medivets. Im registered at a couple of diff branches, i use one for ops and the other for jabs etc as its closer. Not all the vets are rabbit savvy but the branches i use are small and only have 1 main vet and I've been happy so far. I have thought about changing vets tho as they are expensive. I've a few examples: GA dental around £180, jabs are about £19 each, consults £26, metacam injection £17. Those are just a few recent bills.
It all depends on whether your happy with your vets knowledge, I think its hard to find a bunny savvy vet. If i was 100% happy with my vet i wouldn't mind paying more. Maybe register with them and ask if they have a rabbit savvy vet or a small animal specialist and visit them when your buns are next due their jabs and see how well the vet carries out their health check.

They were investigated but only at a couple of branches up north i think, the ones i use weren't.

I think (please correct me if I'm wrong) that only certain branches were investigated and I believe that Medivet are franchises.

As a franchise, they will have to adhear to set standards and stuff but basically they (the employees at a site) won't actually work for Medivet, they will be employeed by the franchise holder.

Basically what it means is they are only as good as the staff that work there, just like any other vet practice.

Yes, I do use a Medivet. Not because it's a chain, but because that's where the local rabbit savy vet works.

Medivet in watford is great. Guy carter is very rabbit savvy and theyre much cheaper than my other local vet practice. :D

It's the same as with any chain of vets, or any vets at all for that matter, some are good and some are bad and some are terrible!!
I watched the Panorama programme and it did put me off them, but they are not all like that and if the vet there is good with rabbits then go for it, have an appointment and see if you like them!
