baby bunnie out of nest...

New Kit
wee bit of help.... went in tonight just to check all was ok... mummy was sitting there, and there was a wee baby bunnie lying not far from her out of the nest... is this normal???

I removed mum, and lifted baby, and put back in the nest!! have to say the other babies musta got comfortable with that extra bit of room, as there was a bit of a squabble as the bunnie took up its position in the nest!

Babies usually start venturing out around 2-3 weeks (when they look like mini bunnies), earlier than that it usually means they were latched on when mum got up to leave and didn't want to let go so got dragged out. Mum has no way of getting them back in. You did the right thing to pop him back in the nest :)
