  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

It was delayed after her problems eating after her spay. I wanted her weight to be up, incase she reacts. Cutie-pie is the first bunny I have had who reacts badly to a vet visit, so have been delaying. (stupid I know).

Will be her first one. Sunshines was done weeks ago.

Was meant to be out today but OH would have taken her as he is on AL.

Cutie-pie needed to put weight on and is now 2.42 kilos. Her ideal weight.

She was about 1.8 when I first got her. So good news for Cutie-pie. Although her teeth are sharp now, so need to watch her.

Sunshine is 3.03. Up from 2.92 so I need to be careful with the pellets. His weight is also fine. But no more. At least that is half a kilo less than the beginning of the year.

Both are sulking under the bed now.

Hope the sulks don't last too long. What kind of bunny is Sunshine? Spenser has varied betwen 2.6 and 2.9kg, but I don't really know what his ideal weight is.

I have alway called Sunshine a pointy earred bunny.

Spencer sounds spot on. 3.02 kg is at the upper limit so Sunshine shouldn't put on any more weight.

Cutie-pie is a mini lop. So a few more ounces won't hurt, but I think it is best I maintain their weight now.

Jane, sulks are over, they are ripping up paper and running around now. :D
