Hi,

a month ago i rescued 2 rabbits that had been dumped in a car park.

this them on the first day:

since then we've had the vaccinated, neutered and beefed up a little and now they seem pretty happy

Mingus is the ginger (and is now mid moult!) and Rupert is the white/brown one.

They are absolutely gorgeous! Who would want to abandon them?! It looks like they've really landed on their paws with you anyway. Welcome to Rabbits United! :D

welcome to RU! :wave:Your bunnies are so cute! they are so lucky that you found them. It looks like they have a lovely home and are really happy :)

 thanks for the welcome.

these two already have me handcutting greens for them when they dont get out.

their coats are not great. mingus is starting to get soft fur but it feels dry.

is there anything i can do to improve it?

they're gorgeous:love: bless you for taking them in, they look quite young in the first pic.

did you say they were moulting? fur often looks and feels really shabby during this time but with a good diet and exercise, it should improve.

what diet do you have them on?:)

Hello

They are adorable, how could anyone leave them. :( well done for taking them on.

hi, the bunnies have their run and spend most of the day in that. i walk the dogs first thing in the morning and then again in afternoon. the staffy is allowed outside with the bunnies as she loves them (i used to have pet rats which she groomed and curled up with). the lurcher cant cope  if the dogs need to go out i put the buns away for a bit so they can take turns outside.

they are on a kibble/pellet type complete and hay. but they're outside in their run most of the day but Rupert isn't too interested in grass  I hoped they'd be little lawn mowers but it's not the case :?

Aaaaw. How much of the dry food do they get? If they get too much they often won't be interested in grass/hay which is really bad as they need hay/grass to wear down their teeth.

Well done for rescuing them. They are gorgeous

Once daily? That's not a huge amount. The normal guideline is 1 eggcup per bun per day in case you hadn't read about that yet. Is their hay eating good? If so maybe he just doesn't like or isn't used to grass

yeah, they have food in the afternoon when they go back in their home (it's prolly about one egg cup). i was told not to feed too much pellets and encourage as much hay/grass as poss. they eat hay but i just thought they'd prefer grass the stoopid bunnehs :lol:
