had a call earlier today from someone who had taken in a rabbit , who had then had babies .. Babies are now 4 to 5 weeks old and two were looking "not right" and had fur coming off their noses .
I suggested vet...she said couldnt afford it .. so i agreed to take the poorly looking ones into rescue just so i could get them treated .
within 5 mins of arriving i was escorting the owners to our vets as as soon as i opened the box i suspected myxi .
I so wanted to be wrong ...but i wasnt
3 babies had to be PTS . The owner has taken the others home (who show no signs of myxi as yet ) to quarentine indoors ...but has been warned they are unlikely to escape it .
so very very sad ...
