Dylan isn't yours as well is he?
I love how shiney her coat is, it's absolutely immense.
Shes lovely,Ali.You have your hands full.
My hands are full and overflowing, but we're getting into a routine now....it's getting easier!
It's mostly the walking that's getting me. I was thrown into the deep end with walks. We're going for walks 3-4 hours a day, every day. Jumping in to that from nothing, previously, is a shock to the system.
T's annoying me immensly as he refuses to walk more than 30 minutes in one go, alone with her. All I ask is that he does the morning walk twice a week, to give me those two walks off, but he thinks 1/2 an hour is fine.....
....it's NOT fine! After an hours walk she lies down for at least a couple of hours after, and we have a calm dog....after 30 minutes she's still bouncing off the walls.
(I think I've got to him with the importance of longer walks (TBH I'd say an hour isn't long enough) and I really hope he'll pull his weight. All I ask is two walks a week....I'm happy to do the other 19 odd hours a week!:lol
I always forget how hard work dogs must be. That's a lot of walking time!
You will look at her in about 18 months time and wonder if she is the same dog once you have trained and socialised her well, it sounds like you are building up a great bond with her too
Ali, she is bootiful! My bf hasn't taken the pup out yet, but I think Jin needs less than yours and Jin can go offlead. Have you thought about trying a long lead for practicing recall? Try starting in the house......every time you say her name, throw her a treat. Eventually, she will respond really fast to her name. Then, start saying "Mia, come" and hold down a treat. Find out her weakness. Jintys is that cheap cooked chicken for sandwiches
(by the ham) which I cut up. She'll get it. Keep the pics coming
