I saw this yesterday on another thread http://forums.rabbitrehome.org.uk/showthread.php?t=291306&highlight=citronella about flies and I know there are loads of talented, needlecrafters etc I was just thinking what a brilliant idea for fundraising, they could be all different shapes/colours like pink hearts for example, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone fancies making some.
These are pretty

Mmmm zesty  I might have a go aswell, I'm just thinking what you could put in them, lavender would be nice, I used to have a huge lavender bush that would have been perfect, what about shredded orange and lemon peel? I know I've seen a Christmas table arrangement/pot pourri with cinammon sticks and oven baked orange peel, just thinking of natural fragrances that smell fresh and might repel flies?

I've been doing some research on this and it would seem there are a few natural deterrents, this is supposed to be effective for approx 6 months you can use lemon aswell just stick cloves into the fruit and hang.

Hanging mint or basil around the home also repels flies. Hang a fresh pine branch. Flies do not like pine oil. Keep basil well-watered from the bottom so that it produces a stronger scent. Dried ground leaves left in small bowls or hung in muslin bags are also effective. Cloves and citrus peel in bags
