Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Humping

Hi, I dont know if this is in the right place but i rescued a mum (18m) and baby (12w) rex`s 2 weeks ago, i have noticed that mum has been humping baby quite abit. I have also noticed a few bit of hair in the run which im sure was not normal. When i put baby back in her hutch today after being in the run she had a bald pactch on her back which was hidden behind her ears. Is this from mum humping her? do i need to get ger spayed to stop this?

Thank you

sounds like you do need to get her spayed to me. the back of the neck could get really sore. maybe separate for a while?

Hello and welcome

Definitely get her spayed and then the little one spayed or neutered when they are old enough. Spaying stops them from developing uterine cancer which is an 80% certainty in unspayed female rabbits :)

The fur will be where she is grabbing her,Female bondings dont always work,so id get them spayed ASAP
