Not online but I have in person, large range of stuff and fairly cheap

Some people on this forum wont buy from her because she breeds though

I know it hasn't yet, but please don't let this develop into a debate on breeding or personal about the website owner

We brought a rabbit for DEE MILLEN (WARNING)

Hi all

We brought a mini lop from Dee and the day after we took her home she had the poops really stogy so we called Dee and she told us that it us just stress from the move ect. Later that week we had to take the rabbit to the emergency vet because it was night time, she was not eating drinking and she had lost weight. They kept her in over night and then we had to take her to our vet that is a rabbit specialist they kept her in for 5 days. During this time I emailed Dee to tell her what was going on and she said that as far as she was aware the rabbit was fine because she did not hear from us but she quotes that her after sales care is very good so this is one of the reasons that we went to a breeder but she never once contacted us to see if the rabbit was ok after we callled her about the poo being wrong. I then emailed her again telling her what the situation of the rabbit is and how much the vet bills have been since Almost £500 and we have only had the rabbit just over 1 week at this stage and from then on I have had not other messages fro Dee and we are £500 out of pocket plus the rabbit was £45 and we brought the food, bed and hay also from Dee. We picked her up from the vets Friday as they said were see how she gets on at home we have had to syringe feed and syringe her pain killers all weekend but she is going down hill again. This rabbit has not been right since we have had her. We cant let her suffer so she is going back to the vets tonight.

I would like to warn anyone that is thinking of buying a rabbit from her to think again as I dont want other people in this situation.

I am really sorry

Has the Vet mentioned coccidiosis as being the likely cause of the GI tract problem ?

Poor Baby Bunny  I hope that she can be saved, it is awful that there has been no 'after sales care' at all from the Breeder.

I am so very sorry about this:( - it is truely awful when you bring a new baby home, and the only time you've had with her is her being ill. I went through that with Luna so can understand how upset you must be.

I was very surprised to hear this about Dee to be honest though - we bought our Lionhead Harley from her over a year ago and (touch wood), we've had no problems with her...and we were very impressed with Dee and the care she seem to show towards her animals - and she did give some very good advice. Am very sorry that she has let you down like this.

The profits from anything you do buy from her do go towards her breeding programme - so if you are very against this, then I would find another supplier.

The fact that she breeds AND says a 4ft cage is fine for a rabbit really put me off buying anything from her.

Two of my buns came from her and they are lovely in every way. No real issues as yet (touch wood) and Dee has always given advice too re care etc.

I have to say I have bought quite a lot of stuff from dee including my 5 foot double hutch and I have found her to be very helpful, she has emailed me quite a lot of advice before I found this forum, and I've always found her advice to be good. I obviously haven't got experience of rehoming a bunny from her, but in terms of the service of her online shop and quality and speed of service I was happy. I understand people on here may have reservations about funding her breeding though.

Im sure she has been nice to you all as you have had no problems. Like i said we only went to a breeder as we have had rabbits before from garden centers ect and thought a breeder would be the best option with the best support but goes to show that as soon as there is a problem they dont want to know. We are still having feed Honey our self with the critical care food from the vets as well as a pain killer.

Did you see my previous post mentioning the possibility of coccidiosis ?

I have and it came fairly fast... I ordered a rabbit christmas hamper from her - which was what set rupert poorly the first time, it had loads of bad things in it.

I know this isn't to be turned into a breeder debate etc, but I will never buy from her again.

When we first got our rabbits, i researched alot, and found her (because i was going to london pet show and so was she) and i read stuff about her being a 'rabbit expert' - well, we'd not long had R&T and Tia was very very very nervous bunny (mistreated before etc) and i was sooo looking forward to meeting dee and getting her advice... to say she was rude is an understatement. Told me to put her in a 4ft cage, and not let her outside anymore! All tia's problems stem from being kept like that!!! She said her rabbits don't go outside, i said is that not a bit sad, she said no they're rabbits, they've never seen a garden so how can they miss it.

she was doing a demonstration and she tranced all of her 'show' rabbits (who were kept in tiny wired bottom cages, i know it was a show but still, dont think there was any need for the small-ness of them!) when she picked them up they all had dirty bums, and squashed poops on their bums :(

I won't buy from her out of principle now, the same as I won't buy from P@H. She doesn't sell anything that can't be bought elsewhere (sometimes for cheaper too).

In that case I might reconsider buying anything from her in future. Not that I get much now since I moved to ings hay and Timothy hay from timothyhay.co.uk. I always got the impression from her website that she was someone who was very knowledgeable about rabbits and really cared about where they ended up, but maybe not if she treats her own rabbits like that.

I came home and cried :( it was only a couple of months after getting my two aswell.... it made me realise that i don't care if tia doesn't like cuddles etc, as long as she is happy and healthy then im happy.

Yes sorry it's taken so long to reply to you. I did not know exactly what the vet said as it was the MRS that took here. Apparently it's a pester site in her kidney or liver that's causing the problem poor little might god know how long she has had it in her.

I buy from Dee, got my rabbits from her and I regularly buy hay and toys and stuff.

I can see why not everyone would agree with how she does things. I will say that when I picked up my two she had at least 3 bunnies free roaming in the garden and around her house. That was two years ago. She knew a lot about the temperament of her animals but she is a show breeder, so I wouldn't expect her to have the same opinions as a rabbit rescue expert. I went with a breeder for my own reasons. (Not sure I'd do it again after reading all about all the bunnies in my nearest rescue that are waiting for homes!)

Bunnies aside if you're just buying from her rabbit accessories page I would say that it IS a shop. You wouldn't expect an item from a pet shop to come with an assurance that it is safe for rabbits (and we ALL know not everything made for rabbits is good for rabbits, or good for all rabbits) so I would recommend doing the research on the item before you buy it, as you would if you were buying from anywhere else on the internet.

She did also tell me that her profits from the shop go into keeping her rabbits.

I buy stuff from the hay experts, everything on there is 100% safe for rabbits.

Would never buy from someone who says 4ft cages are fine for rabbits and who breeds when there are already so many rabbits in rescues, seems she doesn't know (or care) much about rabbits to me.

Dee does know an awful lot about rabbits - and her pet rabbits have an amazing set up. She breeds for the love perfecting a particular breed - and indeed was instrumental in the first breeding of Lionheads (which are a mixture of various older breeds).

She does care about buns - she hates P@H and pets shops and the breeders they buy from. And we had a 2 hour interview with her, before she even brought out Harley - and then spend loads of time showing us how to groom her, hold her, what to do if Harley got stroppy. She has been known to turn down buyers if she does not like them. And at least she insists on a minimum hutch size - there are loads of breeders who don't give a toss about even that!

Thats the good stuff.

As a breeder, she does not become emotionally attached to her bunnies - she will try and ensure that her buns go to a good forever home - that I do believe, but once gone - that's it really. I don't think she treats her show bunnies cruelly but she doesn't love them and spoil them as pets... because they are not pets to her. I do know she will breed a brother and sister - and if the outcome is not what was desired, she will cull. Again - no emotion - it's the purity of the breed that matters, having to have the best rabbit in show all the time. That is why she breeds - not to make money, but to achieve that perfect breed of rabbit.

She does not make money from breeding rabbits - the shop profits fund the breeding programme.

And yes - she can be very rude and abrupt!

On the one hand - I understand her approach but it's not one I agree with, or will ever support again. I love Harley to bits - and will never regret buying her - but having privately rescued 3 buns since then - I wll never buy from a breeder again.

Hi all

Quick up date on honey She is on the mend eating, drinking and pooping as she should. She is not just over 1000 grams but should be 1.2 kgs for her age and breed.

We have not had any communication with Dee whats so ever after telling her that there was something wrong with Honey after we got her. Even the vet was shocked at this as she is ment to be a breeder.
