Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Sleepy Dust - Should I be worried?

Hi,

My name is Zoe and I have a beautiful baby Thrianta of 10 1/2 weeks called Poppy.
She was checked over by Sarah at Ashleigh Vets in Manchester who is a recommended rabbit vet a week and a half ago and she said that she is in good health.
The only thing that is bothering me is a little sleepy dust in the corner of her eyes, they don't appear to be weeping loads or sore and she is in her usual good spirits binkying around the house.

I am hoping someone might be able to give me some advice on whether this is normal or if she should go back to the vets.

Thanks :)

My two get this. I clean it out of their eyes evey day, i think they both like me doing it :)

Unless is it weeping then i think it is normal.
