  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Little cut on nose

Matt_83

Young Bun
One of my rab c nesbitts has a small cut on his nose. It kinda looks like his hair has fallen out in this place rather than an acutal graze.

Its very small but Im concerned it could be a bite from some sort of bug as the Timothy Hay we had seemed to bother them quite a bit....

Its the same color as his nose.

Does he live with other Rabbits ? If so it could be over grooming (by another Rabbit)

Is the skin raised, like a small lump ?

Without being able to see the area its impossible to say what it may be. Rather like me saying does this rash on my arm look like an allergy, you cant see it so.............. !!

I would advise you to get a Vet to check him over :)

Thanks for your reply

I do have a photo but cant figure out how to post it....??

Yes there are 2, they are about 6-7 weeks old. He does rub his nose alot, think thats due to the old hay I was giving him, just wondering could it be his nails, is it too ealry to cut them....???
