  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

what do you think? vet pet club schemes

Hi. My vets have a healthy pet club scheme where they split the cost of vaccinations over the year so you don't have to pay for a vaccination when you visit. This is good for me as I have 5 rabbits and tend to take 3,4 or even 5of them down at a time when vaccinations are due. So effectively I've already at least part paid for their vacs by the time they go down. This month with rabbit awareness they are offering free vacs so I rang and asked what happens in my situation,do I get the cost of the vac credited to my account. The answer was no. My argument is that I'm being penalised for being part of their loyalty scheme! Whilst I appreciate I still won't have to pay anything when the 5 of them have their vacs, I have been paying monthly so have already at least part paid. Has anyone else had this as an issue? Am I making a mountain out of a mole hill?! Hope I've explained myself properly!

you aren't entitled to it on the vac month scheme anyway.

to qualify, you have to have not vacc'd for 9 months.
if i've understood correctly, that will be why you still have to pay
