  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Just had a thought which I was discussing with a couple of other bun mums. So difficult to give accurate advice without actually seeing the bun, and I know we arn't vets BUT was wondering whether video footage posted, say via YouTube with a link here could be beneficial. As so many of us have and do experience so many probs, maybe a short vid showing symptoms etc might help?

It's often difficult to do this, as so many illnesses present in the same way in rabbits.

A rabbit being quiet and not eating can be several different illnesses for example, and it can be different per bun, so i dont know how that would work.

Nice idea though

mmmmmmmmm that's the prob I know, same with us humans, certain symptoms can cover so many illnesses, but as I said was just a thought

Think it would be a good idea for things like head tilt, or hopping funny etc and sometimes even with not eating becauseif the bun is sat hunched in a certain way it can show they're in pain in their tummy rather than it being their teeth etc

You have just done what I thought. I have been taking pics of way winston is sitting to sow my vet as obv he doesnt do it in vets and this was the only way I can get my point across that his leg isnt working properly
