Bonding two neutered males

I have two males that were in the same litter and were bonded but when they became mature they obviously began to fight, so I split them up & recently got them neutered at the same time to help with bonding.
It has been 4 weeks now, is it to soon to bond them. I attempted yesterday and the most dominant male who started the fights when they became mature was fine but the other was sniffing him and then tried to nip him so I quickly moved him away & stopped.
Is this common bonding behaviour or should i wait longer before bonding them.

It can take around 6-8 weeks for hormones to die down after a neuter, so maybe try then?
Also, was the space you introduced them on neutral?

yeah I put them in the bath tub together and put a big plate of vegetables in with them
