dropped bella off at 9AM (not gonna lie, burst into tears when we left
) and the vet called us at 11.30AM. bella's teeth are in, in her words, fantastic conditon. she didnt need to file them or anthing. so that was the first thing ticked off the list. she then tried to flush bella's tear duct. she could't as there is something blocking bella's nasal passage so the rinse just backed up. she did manage to flush the tiniest amount of white discharge out so there is an infection there which now bella will have antibiotics for. however this left the decision about the blockage. she rang the sister branch as there is a rabbit specialist there and she seemed to think bella may have a biney browth there or simply issues with her tear duct which has caused them to close. if there is a bone growth, without major surgery, there is nothing they can really do about it. it could be some kind of tumor but once again, where it is possibly located, would make it very difficult to operate and bella more than likely wouldn't come through it
so this leaves us with very few options.....
the vet didnt want to do an x ray as it really wouldnt result in anything positive, it would just determine the root cause but still leave us not being able to do anything about it.
thats not to say we wont do an x ray at a a later date, we're picking bella up at 6.10pm tonight and we are going to talk to the vet more then.
anything anyone feels i should ask would be fantastic, to be honest im in limbo right now. im pleased her teeth are ok but worried that its something sinister there. it could be a simple tear duct issue.....
my heads in a whirl
