What wood and wire to use?

I'm looking to add a wire frame in the door of my shed so I can have the wood door open in the warm wheather and to add to windows too, what strong wire and wood do I need?

I would go for welded mesh, preferably 16 gauge (you may have to check with the supplier) as its stronger with small holes.

And, erm, strong wood - sorry not good with naming wood types!:lol:

Minimum 19 guage galvanised wire mesh, 1/2inch x 1inch holes.
For wood something like 45mm x 25mm is nice and sturdy.

I'd go for weld mesh 1" x .5"
and the wood would be tanalized 2" x 2" or 2" x 1.5" (sorry I still work in pre metric:oops:). If you go to the section where they sell tanalised roofing lathe, you'll get it at a good price as its sawn timber (rather than a finished timber which you pay through the nose for)
I normally buy a bundle of 10 x 3m lengths (so around 100ft) for about £23

Thankyou very much  I have no idea what any of that means  But I have written it down and gave it to my dad.
