Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Think Matilda is having a phatom! she keeps carrying hay round in her mouth and moving it different places! shes not nest built yet, but its certainly heading that way!

where do I go from here, in terms of gettin her spayed? shes 5 weeks post givign birth, tho baby was seperated at 4 week cos Matilda tried to mate with baby and managed to tear a peice of it ear off:roll:

You wait, and you hope its a phantom because everything from the past few weeks points to a genuine pregnancy.

If it is a phantom, then wait until she has finished and destroyed the nest and her milk has dried up (if she lactates) and then see how she is.

oo fingers crossed for a phantom, tho i really don't think its a real pregnancy, I think she is missing gracie alot! and still think she feels the need to be a 'mum'

also she is acting abit different to before, before she had gracie she hated being tounched and lundged and bit everyone, she loves being huged atm, tho the buzzing is back :/ ahh confussed

she keeps trying to mount everything to!

If the baby is 5 weeks old doens't that *just* push her outside the gestation period and point towards a phantom?

Gestation is 28-33 days, normally 30-31. So since she delivered Gracie more than 35 days ago, she could have conceived. Unlikely, but possible.

I think you're probably thinking of where the doe and buck are together and mum conceives straight after birth because they haven't been separated. Matilda was never living with dad, Gracie is the result of an accident. Potentially another accident could have occured since birth.
