  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

If it was Biccy I wouldn't be worrying so much but the water bowl was still very full this morning :(

Syringed about 20ml and have called vet. Thankfully her vet is on call this weekend.

We are carrying in with syringed water and will see how we go.

Vibes?

Is it worth learning how to do Sub Q fluids for situations like this?

I hope she picks up and is back to normal soon :)

Poor Ginger. :(
I hope she picks up. Can you substitute with watery veg like cucumber for a little while?

Hope she's started drinking now. Do you think the weather is causing them to be a bit off colour? I was also surprised to come home to a full water bowl today as I expected the exact opposite.

I hope she has had a good drink by now. If not, DRINK Ginger, DRINK!!!!

Graham, you will always do right by her and go with what you feel is right, be it wait and see or get her to the vet.

What a worry for you,I hope Ginger has had a drink in the night.I also think it would be a good idea to learn how to give her sub cut fluids, she wont have to get stressed out going to the vets in this hot weather xxxx
