  • Please Note - Medical Advice

Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

Yellow feet - should I clean?

helennnnnn

Wise Old Thumper
I have just collect bun from a day with the vet. The hay and bits inside his carrier were quite wet, I assume he's spent the majority of his day in there. His feet are quite yellow and so is his nose (I guess he has prob been rubbing it due to sneezing). Should I try and clean him up a bit? He's tried himself to give his feet a bit of clean but I thought if he sits still long enough I could try and help him along... Any advice?

I don't think its worth stressing an animal out for that. Its not going to harm him, especially if its dry, and he will likely clean it off in due course.

bisc and matt always come home from the vets with wet feets, i assume because they aren't used to no litter trays and also because bisc wee's on the journey there and back usually. i just usually leave them to clean them when they're back home and settled.

bisc even wee'd on matt aswell, he was soooo not impressed!:lol:

Haha whoops!!

In that case I'll leave him to it. He's having a rest from his long day and I think I need a bit of a rest too after setting off with him at 6.30 this morn!

it's as exhausting for us as them isn't it!

both of you can have a nap now then :)
