  • Please Note - Medical Advice

    Please keep in mind that posts on this forum are from members of the public sharing personal opinions. It is not a replacement for qualified medical advice from a veterinarian. Many illnesses share similar symptoms but require different treatments. A medical exam is necessary for an accurate diagnosis, without which appropriate treatment cannot be given.

    You should always consult your vet before following any suggestions for medication or treatment you have read about. The wrong treatment could make your rabbit worse or mean your vet is unable to give the correct treatment because of drug interactions. Even non prescription drugs can do harm if given inappropriately.

    We are very grateful to members who take time to answer other members questions, but please do be clear in your replies that you are sharing personal experience and not giving instructions on what must be done.

    Urgent Medical Advice: If you need, or think you might need, urgent medical advice you should contact a vet. If it is out of working hours phone your vet's normal number and there should be an answer phone message with instructions on what to do.

So we went to the vets today...

And it cost £27. Only that much because of some liquid food packs and painkiller injection.

Tomorrow morning at 8.30 my mom is taking her to the vets (she works close to it) and will pick her up after she finishes at half 3 maybe 4 :( She should be ready to come home by then but I hope she is okay because she is having;
- anesthetic :(
- nails cut
- back teeth filed
- front teeth cut (or burred I can't remember what she said)

And it's costing £80. Oh well. I just hope she's okay :cry: I'm honestly terrified but she's never had anything like this done.. She's also on a diet so.. I hope she has the liquid food when she's home :(

And because it has to be done every month or so I would rather he teeth be out than put her though it because she really doesn't like it.

Does anybody know how much it would be?? :shock:

I hope tomorrow goes well for your bunny and she recovers quickly.

The only way to know how much it will be is to ask your vets practice because there is a lot of room for difference with different vets practices.

If the front teeth are misaligned and she needs them doing regularly, it might be worthwhile looking at having them extracted to hopefully remove that issue.

If its the front teeth causing most of the problems then some bunnies will let them be burred back conscious. Bear in mind if you have the incisors removed you'll need to keep s closer eye for flystrike and sticky bums as she won't be able to groom properly without her front teeth

Yeah they are misaligned :( I would like to have them out because she needs to be spayed some point this year and I wouldn't want to keep putting her through it :( Urrrrrgh, I don't know. We'll figure it out later :shock:
